About Cass

Cass is that lovely mixture of his sire Danny and his dam Charm.

At home he is very much his sire, calm, quiet, and co-operative, that is until a fox nears the dog yard and he will have a roar. In his training he displays that extra – come on let’s do it attitude of his dam. Add the desire he displays with water retrieves gives one a real charge of satisfaction.

Like his dam he has inherited the way of returning with something in his mouth to present to me.

In some ways he has similarities to his Grandfather CHOPS, a good mark with a good memory, faces all terrain with confidence and a natural at carrying game and presentation when he returns with it.

Being a dog of light cream colour and full breed height, Hips 1.1 = 2 and 0.0 Elbows
His Breed DNA Analysis Report reads: Full Clear/Normal/Negative for all Genetic
Diseases & Traits. In working weight and condition, he sets the scales at 34 kilograms.

Chops was in Jill’s last planned litter, unfortunately she never lived to see them
arrive.

Many people have asked how Chops got his pet name. In his litter there were four black males. I liked two of them, so I identified them by snipping a small area out of their coats on different parts of their bodies. The late John Stott said on seeing these chopped areas – ‘who chopped their coats?’, I owned up, and the pup I selected, what better name could you give him than CHOPS. No one forgets his name.
