NEWS – FEBRUARY 2025

It has been sometime since I last prepared a news page for the Kadnooklabs website.

I allowed the previous Kadnooklabs website to elapse solely on the renewal price asked by the previous provider. Now coming out of, here in Victoria, it is priced better than sixty percent cheaper in the annual cost. I must say I was very pleased, and surprised, with the number of people who either phoned, emailed or text me regarding the website and my own general health. That inspired me to start up another website so as you all out there know exactly what is happening at Kadnook.

Over the past year or so, I have allowed (Scot) Kadnook Spirit Of Lanark NRD, RRD to pass over the rainbow bridge. Life stopped quickly for Scot at 14yrs 11mths 21days with a respiratory problem. Then last October (Sedge) GR.RT.CH. Kadnook Dreams Edge DM declined quickly after an x-ray showed a tumour on her liver. Sedge’s passing at 13yrs 8mths 16 days was shortly after her owner/trainer/handler John Stott passed away earlier in July. Sedge came home here to Kadnook after John’s passing. Scot and his daughter Sedge are both buried side by side here at Kadnook. I’m able to view their resting sites every day from the kitchen window.

I currently have three head of cattle as my grass mowers, not that there is any abundance of grass currently. Poddy and her daughter Dolly, now five-month-old, plus a Angus heifer that I call Frankie. All are doing well and enjoying being hand fed hay each day. (Frankie 10 months)

We all remember the huge winds of last October that caused large damage by fallen trees, branches, particularly across Gippsland. That certainly happened here at Westbury, took me two months of steady work to clean it all up. Repairing fences is not my go, but the upside of the event is the many tonnes of firewood I now have in stock for the winters ahead

I spoilt myself with a new motorcar last August. I now enjoy a Subaru Outback Sports as my car transport. The Mercedes Benz had become un-reliable and costly to service. Still have my Amarok Ute as my work vehicle – love it – suits all my needs.

The last litter of pups bred here at Kadnook was whelped in June 2023. That litter with Chops and Gem was most pleasing, and from the litter I have been blessed with Doreen and Graham allowing, ‘The Princess’ as I call her, (Kadnook Princess Bruna) to become part of Kadnook’s breeding program. If all goes to plan Bruna will have her litter early April 2025. Bruna had her implant to UK.FT.CH. Copperbirch Paddy Of Leadburn (UK). Paddy is the sire of Kadnook A Tunnah Charm NRA who I like very much. Details of all Kadnook dogs can be seen in their listing on this website.

Until next time, good health and happiness to you all. Wayne.
