In the years 2015 & 2018 Sedge was Australian Retrieving Trial Dog of the Year.

Sedge from a puppy had always shown a quiet, calm and very tractable temperament, no doubt inherited from her mother. Along the way her father’s high retrieve drive and the combined natural ability from both her parents shone through.

Training had always been limited, once, maybe twice a week being more than enough throughout her career. Training on grounds that were natural terrain similar to trial grounds were always very beneficial.

Sedge was an excellent dog out in the field, be it working rabbit, hare, quail and no doubt her favorite outing was on the wetlands in the hide with John. Her uncanny ability to work things out for herself was amazing.

At home Sedge loved nothing better than following Connie or John around the garden, being allowed inside the home resting on the mat with her mother Millie was always enjoyed.

When Covid 19 arrived it brought an early un-planned closure to Sedge’s trialing career, like it did for others.

In that year Sedge had won six All Age Stakes and a Championship Stake.
